The latest innovations from Bemis are the consumer friendly easy-peel and re-closable ranges of lidding films which deliver a whole new concept in convenience and food storage to the consumer.

Bemis' PET EZ Peel™ is the first film to combine the convenience of EZ Peel™ technology with the high clarity of mono-APET base webs and trays. Bemis EZ Peel™ delivers consistent, peelable seals on every package and guarantees consistent hermetic sealing with an easy open feature for added consumer convenience.

Bemis' innovative Peel-Reseal™ lidding film combines EZ Peel convenience and re-sealable technology in one package. Bemis' mono-APET recyclable base web offers vastly improved clarity for better product presentation and material savings versus APET/PE. In addition, down-gauging the base web by using mono-APET helps to reduce eco-waste taxation.

PET EZ Peel™ & PET Peel-Reseal technologies address environmental concerns of the retailer by providing benefits which significantly impact on the achievement of sustainability targets:

  1. source reduction - eliminating 50µ of PE sealing layer,
  2. incorporating 50% of APET in the base web or tray and
  3. development of a recyclable base within the PET recycle stream.

Environmentally-friendly, cost-effective and convenient PET EZ Peel™ and PET Peel-Reseal™ lidding films provide secure, hermetic sealing to highly-transparent mono-APET base webs. These films feature a true PET sealant layer that forms a fusion seal to the mono-RPET base to guarantee a tight, hermetic package - even through areas of contamination. Peel strength is "built into the film", so peelability of the package is not affected by normal variations in temperature and pressure.

By reducing the thickness of the base web by 50µ, productivity of the packaging machine is improved as less roll changes are required per shift. Bemis' PET EZ-Peel™ and PET Peel-Reseal™ films offer excellent machineability on all standard tray sealing and thermoforming systems so constant machine adjustments and difficult to open packages are a thing of the past.

PET EZ Peel™ and PET Peel-Reseal™ films are consistently smooth and easy-to-open since the peel is obtained through a "controlled delamination". After opening the PET Peel-Reseal™ film, a thin adhesive layer is exposed providing the consumer with a convenient, reclosable package which can be resealed with fingertip pressure - perfect for sliced meat and cheese applications!

Attractive, efficient and economic, Bemis' film structures are ideal for both retail and industrial applications and can be printed with up to 10 colours. State-of-the-art roto-gravure and flexographic printing combined with the exceptional clarity of mono-APET delivers outstanding pack presentation and brand recognition.
